Majestic Electric Company was born in 1940 and based in Colombo - Sri Lanka. We are the pioneer in electrical engineering, contracting, installation and repairs.
Incorporated as a limited liability company in 1970, the firm, now with the addition of the word limited to its name, continued to provide the most modern product technologies and installation processes to the clientele.
Being one of the foremost organisations in the field, MEC was one of the first organisations to be included during the formulation of the exclusive group of contractors pre-approved by the State to handle projects of the highest value category. This category - Grade 1 - has the highest threshold value, with no upper limitation, and is regularly reviewed, updated, and the project value threshold rose, with our company continuing unbroken membership of this top value category.
Since 1956 we have been a member of the Institute for Construction, Training And Development (ICTAD), as one of the first organisations to gain membership of this governing body. In the early 1990’s, as a founder member of ICTAD; we were granted membership to the National Construction Contractors Association of Sri Lanka (NCCASL), and have since enjoyed full and unbroken membership in good standing of both these authoritative bodies.
MEC is pre-qualified and registered with all major institutions and consulting organisations in Sri Lanka as a top level electrical contractor.
We are ISO 9001:2008 certified for Design & Installation of Electrical Systems, Repair & Maintenance of Electrical Systems & Products, Trading of Electrical & Lighting Products.
In addition to the electrical contracting and engineering side of our activities, we continue to have our retail outlet for electrical wiring and related products, control gear, protection devices, PVC profiles, trunkings, moulded MCB enclosures, and a wide range of luminaires. We import and stock products of high quality and trusted brands.
Under the umbrella of Majestic Electric Company is Majec Mobil a pioneer in mobile service for electrical emergency.
Our sister concerns Majestic Industries (Pvt) Limited and Majestic Enterprise were established to manufacture and supply material requirements for electrical contracting and installation activity, and for project management and monitoring the company’s business ventures.
